Can Rofiles support DropBox, OneDrive, Google Drive?

Modified on Thu, 14 Aug at 5:11 PM

Rofiles does not connect directly to cloud drives (Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive). Use each cloud provider’s official sync app to keep a local folder synced, and point Rofiles at that local folder so files are processed as they sync.

How to set it up

  1. Install the cloud provider’s official desktop app so it syncs files to a local folder on your PC or server.
  2. In Rofiles, edit the action to save file and select the synced local folder. Rofiles will detect files as they appear locally and run your scenarios with the action to save file to this sync folder.
  3. If Rofiles runs as a Windows service and you need the service to access cloud/network resources while no user is logged in, run the service under a user account with access or use system-wide configuration for the cloud client.

Notes and tips

  • Rofiles processes files locally by design; using the provider’s sync app keeps your data local while enabling cloud backup/sync.
  • Prefer UNC network paths or ensure the cloud client is installed for all users if Rofiles runs as a service, services may not see per-user mapped drives.
